Went to the farmer’s market and got some Zestar apples, an Amish homegrown type. I like my apples in the crisp side and they’re certainly very good. For a pie though, you might want something softer like ginger gold or Macintosh that’s out right now. I also got some nectarines, very ripe and juicy. You need to eat these fast—like peaches right now.
Then, of course, I got a basket of tomatoes. Nice ones these!! Last time, I got a bunch of bruised ones so this is a step above. I love to eat sliced tomatoes but I also like them in a version I tweaked from Hometown Buffet with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and Italian dressing. Melons are also wonderful this time of year!! Cantalopes can sometimes be iffy for me but it was a winner this time.
I made a little progress on editing. Most of the time, however, I’ve been trying to figure out this pain I’m having for going on six weeks now. I have an apt. with a specialist this Wed. so I’ll have to hold on till then. Take care and God bless!!
