MG/YA:

  1. http://yatopia.blogspot.com/2017/09/lets-get-real-about-villains.html They shouldnโ€™t be one dimensional but their bad deeds shouldnโ€™t be diminished.
  2. http://avajae.blogspot.com/2017/09/on-reading-many-books-at-once.html Do you read more than one book at a time? As youโ€™ve probably seen, I do. A lot has to do with deadlines for review and having to get the books read. Iโ€™d much rather take my time but thatโ€™s not always the way it goes.
  3. http://www.adventuresinyapublishing.com/2017/09/kelly-jones-author-of-murder-magic-and.html On believing in your characters no matter how much time has gone by. I may revisit characters Iโ€™ve written in other stories but it hasnโ€™t happened yet. I tried this summer to rewrite my first book but it just wasnโ€™t meant to be pulled back from the drawer.
  4. http://www.adventuresinyapublishing.com/2017/09/mckelle-george-author-of-speak-easy.html On knowing when itโ€™s the one.
  5. http://yatopia.blogspot.com/2017/09/villainous-struggles.html Making your villain–human? I do think it makes for a more interesting antagonist if you can understand where theyโ€™re coming from, why they are the way they are.

Christian:

  1. http://www.novelrocket.com/2017/09/nature-or-nurture.html We need both to sustain life.
  2. https://stevelaube.com/fail-better/ Fail better than the last time. Youโ€™re always growing, always learning. Improve each time.
  3. https://stevelaube.com/researching-historical-novel/ Research is important to check your facts or your reader could check you. I try to do my best but sometimes you have to kind of guess when a date isnโ€™t known. You can get it in the ballpark of certain events. For instance, the story Iโ€™m working on happens near the end of King Davidโ€™s reign. I canโ€™t pinpoint the exact date so Iโ€™ll try and note that the story may be off with facts. I have a good five-year span so Iโ€™m hoping things work out but I may get it wrong. Anyone else run into this problem?
