Writerly Things…11/5/17
Traci Kenworth
Sometimes things happen that just can crush your soul. This past week, I had $270 deducted from the check I depend on each month to pay my bills. This was done without warning and can’t be corrected until paper work gets to them and then it will take an additional 30 days to get reimbursed. I have things like my mortgage and car insurance coming in and not everything is going to make it through. I know God has plans to prosper us, but sometimes things just feel like a kick in the gut.
I’m not a well-to-do person. In fact, I’m at the poverty level. I struggle to make ends meet most of the time. My two children work to contribute to the household. They’ve, however, both been off work for a while. My daughter has just recently gotten a new job and my son has open interviews this week. Still, the damage will be done in a matter of days. I’m not sure we can recover from it all.
I know this will make us stronger but right now, I don’t see how. How does one recover from the blackhole of debt? One day at a time, I suppose. I’d appreciate any prayers and good thoughts. Have a great day, take care, and God bless!
