Writerly Things…11/19/17

Traci Kenworth

Nov. 5th, a second tornado hit our area. This time, it took down the transformer at the end of the road along with two telephone poles. This pulled the electrical box out on the side of my house again. I also have roof damage, a broken window in my laundry room, and LOTS of trees down. We were out of electricity till the 10th followed by the internet and phones being down till the afternoon of the 13th. That’s why there were no posts from me last week. The roof is going to be repaired the 21st. I still haven’t gotten an estimate on the window. Need to recall.

To add to this, I have been dealing with an allergic reaction that sent me to the hospital this past week. I think it’s the laundry detergent. I hope. I’ve gone through everything else new and this seems to be the culprit. I’ve read online that a lot of people have reactions to this laundry detergent. So, I’m rewashing my clothes and adding some vinegar to the water as advised to rid the perfume and dyes leftover. I also have been prescribed an Epi pen for the first time. I have numerous allergies to things and this might help in the future.

I did manage to finish chapter five of TGW. I’ve been outlining how the next one goes today as well. It was supposed to snow today, and it did lightly this morning, but the rest of the week looks bright. How have you all been? Have any projects coming up? Have a great week, take care, and God bless!

  3. I also have huge allergies, Traci, and have to carry medication all the time. I am particularly allergic to bee stings and mosquito bites. Hope you have fixed all the damage to your home.

    1. I still have the gutters and the window to take care of. The roof looks beautiful though and didn’t take too much time. Still, lots of trees down but we’re clearing them away slowly. I got some ointment from my dermatologist for the hives so they’re slowly going away as well. Thanks, Robbie!
