Is this a long teaser?  Yes.  Should I have parsed it down a bit?  Maybe.  Does it show the great introduction of Lost that I’m really proud of?  Definitely.  Honestly, I couldn’t find a single spot where it felt like a decent cut off because I knew there was something else further on that would reveal more to this character.  I will say that I do explain a lot of her oddities over the course of the books, so she might not be as random as one thinks.
