I went in for my second surgery last Wed. Things were a little more complicated this time and I came home with a box device to drain my incisions. I’m supposed to get that removed on Tues. I’ve had to make do with sponge baths and having my daughter help me wash my hair as I can’t lift my arms very far and the shower’s a no-no for now. I’ve only been on the computer here and there and it does distract me when I can but most of the time, I’ve been resting. In another six weeks, I have to have a quick, outpatient surgery but that’ll only be a couple hours as opposed to the nine hours of this one. I wasn’t quite impressed with the big city hospital compared to the homey atmosphere of the country one. Everyone seemed too busy. They seemed to want me out of there so they could move on with the next. I only saw my dr. for five minutes before the procedure and my visitors saw him for the same afterwards. Apparently, they couldn’t wake me up from the surgery. I don’t know if it had to do with my sleep apnea or not. I thought I was going to stay overnight but I guess my insurance wouldn’t let me.
