As you can see, I fell two books short of the fifty I’d pushed for this year but all in all, I’m pleased. I’m going to try and raise the bar to another twenty-five plus books this new year. I’ve heard V.E. Schwab, a YA Author reads 250 books a year plus all her published works she does. I’ll probably never reach that many as a goal but it’s inspiring to see a published author put in so much work to reach her own reading goals. I wonder how many books Stephen King reads a year? He seems prolific when it comes to reading as well. I’ve also heard from other published authors who say their reading goals have fallen way down for them. Not sure I want to go that way. Reading supplies me with fuel to carry through my journey. I can understand not reading a book with similar material as your own so that you don’t get influenced, but not reading at all? That would shrivel my world.
