Guide through centuries,
Unexplored destinations,
Within reach, maps bring,
North, South,West, East, play key roles,
Traveller’s unseen angel.
Deciphering these,
A perfectionist’s pride,
Clear lines drawn to scale,
Oh! like doodles appears to me,
Lost even with map, that’d me!!
Poetry form :- Double Tanka (Two tanka with 5/7/5/7/7 syllables each.)
Thoughts behind the tanka :- Maps are known to guide us. But not for me, I get lost even with one. Blame it on my map reading skills (Lack of it, rather).
Acknowledgements :- Thank you Colleen. M. Chesebro for running the COLLEEN’S 2020 WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 192, #THEME PROMPT. The theme for the week is “Maps”.
