Matthew Bockholt created a discussion in Weekly Writing Prompt:
I’ve got a new thing I’m trying out. Years ago, when I was part of YAFF (YoungAdultFictionFanatics), we used to do prompts every Wednesday. I got a lot of story ideas from that. I see a lot of you also do prompts each week. The class instructor says this will help strengthen your writing muscle. I remember how fun the prompts were with YAFF, so I look forward to the challenges. This is the first one:
Iressa Hunter discovers more than a father she never knew but also that she is the daughter of an Ageni (angel); when her father uses her for her magic as well as marriage material, she fights alongside a Haldos (a cursed man/beast), a werecat, and the Akara City guardians.
That was a bit hard, lol. Adding and subtracting words. Rearranging things. I think it worked out though. One sentence, introducing my protagonist, the main plot, and major conflict. Not even sure I got that main conflict right. Ah, first try and I’m a bit rusty.
Hope you enjoyed this! If you’d like to join the prompt, link back to my blog if you would so I can see your efforts. Have a great week, take care, and God bless!
